ROSSOCORSA TEAM – ROCCOLI IS SECOND IN RACE 4 IN MUGELLO

Sunday 28 April 2019

The third race of the CIV SS600 held yesterday at the Mugello circuit was decided at the photo finish, with Roccoli second just three thousandths from the winner Kevin Manfredi. Later, however, the Stewards during the technical checks, had found some irregularities on the bike of Manfredi and excluded him from the ranking. As a consequence Massimo Roccoli was the winner. In the championship standings the driver of Beppe Amato’s team remains in second place with 61 points and reduces the gap with the leader Gabellini from 7 to 5 points.

Today, on a very cloudy day with a risk of rain, the six-time Italian champion and his teammate Alessandro Arcangeli are back on track at Mugello to dispute the fourth race of the championship. As yesterday, Roccoli started from the third row and Arcangeli from the seventh, as a result of the results obtained in qualifying. The race took place on a wet track.

After a good start, Roccoli was fighting in the leading group, while Arcangeli was quick at the traffic lights and this allowed him to rise in a few laps up to tenth place. However, the race was suspended after three laps by a red flag, shown due to an accident. Quick start procedure and new start. Roccoli was still fast at the start, while Arcangeli did not repeat the first start. As the race went on, the six times Italian champion was part of the group fighting for the victory, made up of six drivers who continuously exchanged positions. At the sixth lap, however, the race was again suspended by another red flag, caused by a crash, this time for good. The final classification was drawn up with the positions at the end of the sixth lap, which saw Roccoli in second position and Arcangeli in twelfth.

In the championship standings Massimo is now in first position with 81 points, while Arcangeli is seventeenth with 8.
The next round of the CIV Supersport 600 is scheduled for the weekend of June 29 and 30 at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola.
