The first round of the ElfCiv 2020 was held this weekend at the Mugello International Circuit, and Massimo Roccoli on his Yamaha r6 was eager to win the supersport 600 championship for the seventh time.

The race weekend was preceded by two days of testing and qualifying in which Massimo, thanks to the support of the team, managed to score his best horn with a 1’54.913.

The first race of the season sees him lined up on the third row, but thanks to an excellent start Roccoli immediately dominates the top positions, keeping a good pace throughout the race always fighting for the victory.

 

 

It is in the last few laps that a contact with another driver slows him down, making him lose the wake of those in front of him and leads him to finish the race in fourth position for a few thousandths.

This bitter epilogue left Massimo with a strong desire to improve in race 2. In fact, on Saturday he abandoned the seventh position from which he started to lead the race in the top positions and finish it on the third step of the podium.
