ROSSOCORSA TEAM AND ROCCOLI IN THE IMOLA ROUND OF THE WORLD SUPERSPORT 600 CHAMPIONSHIP tHURSDAY MAY,2 2019

Thursday 2 May 2019

The FIM Supersport World Championship, the top championship reserved for production-derived motorcycles, makes another stop in Imola from 10 to 12 May 2019, to dispute the 5th round of the season. It will be an exciting and spectacular weekend in which also Team Rosso Corsa will take part, lining up as wild card the six-time Italian Supersport champion Massimo Roccoli, riding the Yamaha YZF-R6 of Beppe Amato’s team.

Rosso Corsa team, currently leading the CIV Italian Supersport Championship standings, is ready to face this new challenge at international level. The goal is to gain further experience and at the same time to compete with the best teams and riders in the category.

All this is then aimed at putting this technical and sporting experience at the disposal of fans and amateurs that we follow and to whom we give assistance in the days of free practice organized by Rosso Corsa.

Massimo Roccoli, after the two podiums won in the last round of the CIV at Mugello, returns to the World Supersport Championship a year after his last appearance, when at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola he made all the Italian fans dream, when after a lightning fast start he took the lead group. Unfortunately a slip put an end to the race of the Italian champion, who showed however to be able to compete at the same level of the pilots who participate in the world championship on a permanent basis.

Massimo Roccoli #55

“Returning to race in the world championship in which I have played for a decade, even if only as a Wild Card is always a great emotion. I want to thank Beppe Amato, his partners and all the Rosso Corsa Team for this opportunity. Imola is a track that I really like and that has always given me great satisfaction. I can’t wait to get on track.”

Beppe Amato – Team Manager –

“We are very elated and excited. It is a satisfaction to participate in this race and to compare ourselves with the other participants in the world championship. We are aware that our engine has been prepared with the Italian championship in mind, but nothing is stopping us from entering the top ten at Imola.”
