MUGELLO ELFCIV 2021 – ROUND 6

Friday 22 December 2023

The Vallelunga weekend was very particular, firstly because not having been able to organize tests on the Roman circuit, it was the first time that the rider had tackled the track on a Yamaha and secondly due to the weather conditions; generally the last stage is held in Rome to enjoy a milder climate but a cold wind hit the circuit.

Thursday’s tests were used to dress the bike in the best possible way in order to allow optimal riding for the rider who managed to obtain a good pace in the last session.

The CIV weekend begins on Friday with the official free practices which give us good sensations and lead us to reach tenth position. Given the absence of tests, the result meets expectations and suggests an improvement over the following days but unfortunately an inflammation of the tendon in the right arm undermines the driver’s performance.

Qualifying ends in twelfth and eleventh position respectively, placing Stefano in the fourth row on the starting grid.

The first race of the weekend is held in the early afternoon of Saturday, 18 laps to conclude the penultimate challenge of the championship. The start is good but the traffic prevents him from gaining ground immediately and the race ends in thirteenth position.

The championship ends on Sunday with the Supersport 600 race scheduled for 4.45pm. Valutini’s start is excellent and he immediately finds himself making up ground, completing a couple of laps in seventh position. Unfortunately, however, the inflammation in the arm that accompanied the rider throughout the weekend did not allow him to finish the race and he retired on the fourteenth lap, choosing to avoid any damage, both physical and to the bike.

The season ends with a ninth place in the general classification for the driver from Bergamo who therefore returns to the top ten of Supersport600.
